Camping at the Country Stage Music Park – Part 2

Kurt is the feller that is running the whole shebang now… he’s in the black and white shirt, getting ready to go up and play in a bit.

That is Bubba. Bubba Gump. He’s the camp dog. He just showed up one day, dumped and they took him in. He’s just the nicest old dog around. I like this photo…. he doesn’t mind that people are dancing and carrying on. He’s just there to watch over the place.

Of course, we had to get a fire going in the evening….. marshmellows and smores, you know.

Have I told you how much I love this camera my kid has? Is it sinful to covet your kid’s stuff? hahaha…. I took this picture, isn’t it neat how the light is streaming off the little food trailer?

dsc_0361

Evening was awesome…. loved to listen to all the bands throughout the evening hours… just a cool atmosphere… very relaxed and comfortable. The girls were wandering about and didn’t worry one bit about them.

Did I mention how much I like this camera? HAHAHA….

Really enjoyed these guys… the Prater Brothers. Very good harmonies… a little goofy and all, great stageshow and all that. The crowd went nuts for them.

And when the bands were all done… the jamming began.

So visit the last part…. Part 3!

Camping at the Country Stage Music Park – Part 1

Well, as I promised…. I got through all 703 photos that my darling daughter took this weekend and I whittled it down to about ah, 40. I’ll try and make it simple, but here goes…

Beautiful day for a drive… the clouds were simply stunning… Jessy took about 100 photos of the landscape passing by… but I’ll narrow it down to a couple good shots…

This is the Amish family that was selling goodies by the side of the road. Beautiful baskets and baked goods and eggs…. we stopped on the way home and got a basket and a dozen eggs…

Got to the park and found our spot and started to get the tent set up. We’re pretty good at getting in and done without too much fuss.

Some fellers were already picking… couldn’t wait till the evening jamming began!

I like the cool angle of this shot…

dsc_0216

More picking…. hard to believe but I know a lot of these people… bluegrass is a kinda nitch music, so once you’re in it a while, you start to know a lot of people, maybe not all by name, but you’ve seen them and all.

This is one of the nicest places to play… the stage is big and full and I love the covered shelter, it’s a cool place with old memories and such.

I love the flags… they are so cool…..

Weekend Treasures

I’ll be filling you all in on our camping weekend bluegrass extravaganza… but I have to sort through the 700+ photos that Jessy took!!! Honest to gosh!!! I took about 100 of them. hahaha. She is a crazy fool for photography and I suppose she had a good crop of subjects to photograph.

I will share however, with you all, a few of the little treasures from the weekend.

First is my second little square Pyrex covered dish that Maggie spied for me at the Savers place… no chips, with lid, perfect size for leftovers or a little bit of this or that in our small oven…. $3.

Second was a beautiful little brown and purple handmade Amish basket from a gentleman along side the road near the campground when we were leaving. His horse was tied up nearby in the shade and he and his family were selling beautiful baskets and baked goods and fresh eggs from the buggy. I bought this cute little basket for my desk and a dozen beautiful brown eggs. I adore the fact that they are all different sizes… one was HUGE and one was kinda of small, but most were close in size. Had a couple for breakfast and let me tell you… nothing beats fresh laid eggs. Nothing. My egg guy went and slaughtered his flock a bit ago and I’m just now trying to find someone new… he was a little well, ah, not into the girls as much as I would have liked…. anyone know of a hen fancier in the Toledo area that sells eggs???

dsc04805

I SO wish that I could have my own girls. I really do. Someday. My new goal is to start saving some moola and maybe someday get an acre and move my moby there. I already looked into the price, it would be about five grand to move it, close, and then lots are about 5 – 10 grand depending… thankfully I live very close to some pretty rural areas west of Toledo… you just never know what might come down the pike and all. I will probably need about $15,000 to do it right… prepare the land, install utilities and a well, buy the land, move the moby. Still, that’s not very much for your own homestead.

Still at the moment, out of my reach, but things change, you just never know. Maybe it’s time for me to write that book….. (g)

I’ll write more about camping soon…. it involved loading up the van….

and then returning to this… all over my living room….
