Tim came to visit!!!

HAHA… well, no, Tim came to work, but if you know me, I managed to get some visiting into the mix.

He had a lot of things to do!

Fixed the leaky air conditioning unit in my room… it was leaking under it a bit on really rainy storms and rotting the wall beneath it… now it’s very secure and I don’t have to use duct tape to try and keep the cold out! We’re going to paint it the color of the moby next week.

See this yucky window? Well, it was kinda sealed up until about a week ago and the tape let go… and I didn’t write about it because it was so upsetting… one of my daughter’s little fuzzy woozels got out and we didn’t know it. About an hour later we were wondering where the ferret had gotten off to, as they occasionally will find a perfectly woozely spot to nap and we waited, then started to look for her and Jessy said, Mom… I’m worried that she might have gotten out the bad window…

Oh my…. we started to look all over the house in all the usual places, no Tasha. Maggie went to take an old chair to the trash, and she was upset, and was walking back and there was her little baby, in the flower bed on the other side of the Moby!!!!

Oh there was much rejoicing! Can you imagine finding a ferret outside that had been outside for maybe 2 hours???? Unbelievable. We were so relieved. Unfortunately, she had several ticks on her!!! OH MY…. we had to tug them off, thankfully they were not on long and I hope she’s okay now… we’re watching them. But it was such a potentially unhappy story!

So Tim fixed that up for me… I’m trying to save up for new windows… and this is the FIRST ONE… It’s the worse one… but at least now it’s very secure. And it’s bound to help on our air conditioning as well!

He also made some new raised beds for the farm…. hahaha… but that’s another post…

But the best of all? New shutters on the front of the Moby!

It was the first project he was going to do and it’s been one wrought with delays because of rain! And of course, as I was helping him with it today, it was threatening to rain… but we were determined to get er done.

And what a change!!!

Normally you just screw them in. However, with the Moby… there just wasn’t enough behind them to screw in well… so Tim had measured and planed a few piece of wood to glue in behind…. and then we glued them to the Moby with a couple of securing screws at the top while it dried up.

Goofy cat climbed right up the ladder! She’s supervising…. I was kind of surprised that she was comfy with the whole ladder thing…

Here’s the before shot….

Setting the screws in to make sure it stays up there a while….

dsc04553Oh My Gosh!!!

It’s SO different looking…. it looks handsome. It’s the only way I can describe it. It’s such a difference… $23 dollar pair of shutters. Can’t wait for the shutter of the month club to send me more! HAHAHA…. Well, it looks so good, I might have to break out a little rainy day fund cash to get a few more for the side!
