It changes now and then, but these are a few of my favorite shots in my photo folder at the moment… and I was making a slide show for my laptop background and then I thought… I might just share them with everyone.
They are friends, family, my dear daughters, the band, kitties and the likes… just a random collection of some of the ones I really like.
Hope you enjoy them too….
I was going to go through and write about them all, but well, you wouldn’t really know them all anyways…. so here they are. You can make up your own stories about them if that makes you feel good. (g)
First start with a pair of teenagers room and tear it all up. Deposit all the stuff into your living room.
Then clean out a HUGE old closet that didn’t have doors and used to hold a bunch of mismatched weird pieces of furniture very very inefficiently.
Buy a bunch of lumber and draw up a design and have Tim come over and start sawing and cutting and all that…
Try not to bug him too much… (gg)
Wooo Hooooo!!! Almost done! Building that is…
Even plan out a cool little media shelf above the entertainment closet….
Start painting it all black.
BLACK????
Yeah, well, it’s teenagers.
The thought was to originally stain it, but to be honest, we didn’t use the nicest wood throughout… this is a kinda low budget build. So even though the pictures look like nice wood, up close… yeah, it probably needed to be painted. I thought white but they are sick of girly white furniture. They have ALWAYS had white furniture!
(Note to new Moms…. be careful to not overload your girl children with the cute white furniture or when they actually have a choice they will definately swing to the DARK DARK side! hahaha….)
Getting there…. Maggie did most of the painting and she did a good job…. she’s getting better at painting, MOST of it ended up on the shelves!
The black is not so bad with all the colorful stuff on the shelves… has a sort of Ikea modern look. Of course, it’s kinda fun with the circus tent stripes all over the place! hahaha….. Hey, it’s an $800 mobile home… what can they do to make it any less worth that? I think it’s wonderful and they love it. Paint is easy to cover over at some other point in time….
And here’s the final look… at least for the moment. We have a few more refining touches to make… some lampshades for their wall lamps, a new rug maybe and a pair of bean bag chairs…. and we’re building Jessy a desk and fixing up one for Maggie… and we’re sewing some new curtains…. that kind of thing… but it’s pretty close to looking good!!!
How exciting!!!! We just noticed that the wild wheat field actually has litle baby wheat heads on it!!!
HOW EXCITING!!! All of us were out there examining it and marveling over the growth.
Yeah, we don’t have cable.
And we’re very easily amused…. apparently.
But it is cool…. and the kitties love laying in the wheat field and attacking each other and acting like they are lions in the wilds of Africa. Instead of Toledo.
