Saturday Night Bluegrass

Had a chance to go in the middle of the state on a bit of a road trip with the boys… played some good music and had a blast. Was nice to get a little fun social situation in to the mix and get my mind off the zillion plans and details of getting ready to move. We had a nice showing, not a ton of people, but the ones there really made up for it and we have a lot of fun.

Always like road trips. Sure, the cost of gas sort of eats into the meager pay that we bluegrass musicians get paid for a night of music, but still, the time to just hang out with everyone in the band, it’s an important thing. We don’t just hang out much, when we get together, we pick. So driving is a nice time to chat about things, share stories and talk about important things like cage fighting, sports, throw up stories and the ever popular “bad things I did as a kid/teenager” stories. (Often mixed in with the throw up stories…) Oh yeah, and video games.

Sometimes being the lone female in a male based music/band can be a little humbling. But I love it, it’s a fun peek into the opposite sex’s minds when they aren’t focused on music.

Oh, I forgot… eating. We were all hungrey, so we spent some of the time talking about our favorite fast food stories that usually involved consuming mass quanities of dollar menu food. Of course, often these tales would drift back to the stories of throwing up. Hahaha… yeah.

Triple cheese whoppers and large fries and large onion rings with a couple BK stackers and a chocolate shake… large, of course, that meal can get you TWO good stories outta it. (if ya know what I mean….)

250 miles… 2 long sets of bluegrass music…. 4 hours of man stories… priceless….
