A few little growing updates…

WE HAVE BLUEBERRIES!!!!!

Well, okay, like maybe a dozen?

But stilll….. we HAVE BLUEBERRIES!!!!!

They are SO cute looking….

And Jessy planted a handful of monster sunflowers in the bed… and well all over and they are doing pretty well. I love sunflowers… and the last couple years haven’t had any really grow right…. this year I hope to have them ALL over the place!!!

The Grow Bags seem to be working out nicely…. this one has pumpkins in it… the last couple ones that we didn’t have room for in our pumpkin volcanos… so we thought, lets try them in a grow bag.

This bag has baby watermelon in it! I’m not sure if they will make it to maturity or not, but a friend said they might, and I figure this is the year to see how things grow at the moby… next year we’ll weed out a few things that didn’t do as well and plant more of what does!

We have potatoes in the other three… yellow, red and a russett… should be interesting. I think they’ll do fine. It just takes taters like a good couple weeks to really start sprouting and putting out greens… should be seeing them middle of the month or so.

I call this… Still Life Kitty and Cukecumber plants.

I moved this little hosta out to the shed… It was growing under one of the HUGE plantain hostas and was getting a little stunted. I am hoping that over here by the shed, it will recover and start to really develop in it’s own space… and since the daffys bloomed and did their thing, there’s nothing by the shed! OH NO!!!!

Beans and peas and radishes… all doing nicely. It’s all our seed crop, and they are all mostly up and doing their thing pretty good. The starter sets are doing lovely as well, I think they have a little extra head start to success though, so it’s always neat to see seed doing their thing well, too!

All in all, everything is doing pretty good. It’s only been really a good 3 weeks since the garden was finalized and all, and it’s finally getting to be a little warmer consistantly all over. Flowers are doing great… grass is hanging in there.. the wheat is getting taller and taller!

I still have corn, more sunflowers, morning glories and garlic to plant in the next couple days. I’d have had it done sooner but been a little busy with this and that and my bum knee is acting up a little bit. Makes bending over hard. Thankfully it only does this every year or so… and the girls are anxious to help out as they’ve been at their Dad’s for 4 days or so… and just got home! They miss the little farm!

That’s the roundup… things are doing fairly good!
