Hoe, Hoe, Hoe….

I just wanted to share with you other garden nuts one of my favorite tools in the garden… it’s call a Arrowhead Hoe. And it’s wonderful…

It’s probably called it because of the shape…. (gg)

But what’s great about it is that you can use it in several ways… you can push it forward and it will skim under the dirt and chop little weed babies right off at the stem… you can pull it towards you can cut and gather weeds with the pull stroke.

Here Jack is checking out the pulling back method. He approves.

Luna is checking to make sure she approves as well.

I like this hoe, I’ve had it for over 5 years… it’s very lightweight, so you don’t feel like it’s a drag after using it a bit. I love the small head to it, because you can get in and around plants, veggies, flowers etc.

You can use the pointy end to really sever some big thick roots and then yank them out with the little wings…

Here I’m making pretty short order of the bean bed weeds with just a little bit of pushing and pulling through the soil. It’s even kinda fun, because it’s not heavy and tedious. It takes a little getting used to… but once you get the hang of it, it’s like having a little arm extension and sure does save a lot of back bending weeding chores!
