Studio Ideas…

Oh my gosh! Isn’t this the coolest idea??? I saw it as I was wandering about looking at ideas for our art studio space! And I stumbled on this and it’s so wonderful! I just love how easy it is, and how it is such a neat way to store and display all your fabric!

Here’s the website for the product…

Now, it’s a great idea, but I wish it was a little less expensive. I’ll warn ya, it’s not super cheap. Not exactly sure why, it’s just punched coroplast… makes a cheap gal think about just making your own. Seems to me there has to be something that is close, that might work just as nice. The little tabs are cool, but I think you could use a piece of low tack masking tape to get it started on your panels, and then a straight pin to keep it tidy. I wonder if you can just get 8 1/2 x 11 pieces of coroplast from a sign dealer or something. I do like the white and the rounded corners… hmmmm….

  1. try flattened cereal boxes.
    I just saw somebody post about something similar. But she bought cardboard boxes from the dreaded w*mart …and cut them apart to organize her fabrics.
    What’s wrong with hanging it on hangers? unless closet space is lacking?
    Those are all the ideas I have for now…notice, I didn’t say *good* ideas…{wink}

    • Hmmm… haha, aren’t we cheap! (g) I would LOVE to buy some of those from the company, but gee golly, $150 bucks? That would buy a whole lot of fabric! Haha… Still, I don’t see why you couldn’t just use a really stiff cardboard… or by sheets of coroplast and cut them yourself. I like Chanda’s idea of reusing old campaign signs!!!

      Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

  2. Looks like a great way to recycle some used compaign signs. Gonna be plenty of those this year. Nice time to stock up. lol

  3. Yeah, its possible. I like the idea of them being a colorful part of the studio, something to just be visually pleasing and all. But then I worry about sunlight and dust, and stuff… thats why I was excited to get this old dresser from a friend, and put all my stash in there. I’ll probably wait for now, and think about it. Perhaps I’ll use some other supplies to give the room a dash of fun and color…. I know I want a handful of big glass jars for stuff… maybe ribbons and notions, paints etc. Hmmmmmm….
