Primer Paint Tip

Unless you have some REALLY tough stain problems, like graffiti or maybe old water damage or mold, you can save a TON of money by using super premium paint mistints as primer. In our area, a mistint is usually like $5 a gallon. And for whatever reason, they seem to mess up the super premium paints the most. I think it’s because the people that can afford the fancy paints are a little more picky? Well, whatever the reason, watch for a mistint that is a lighter or similar color as your final color. You might just luck out and save yourself a good deal of money!

We managed to get two cans of light mistints for Jessy’s room and that saved us almost $60 over buying traditional primer. And it worked fantastically. Most good paint will cover well, especially if it’s a mistint like soft beige or whites. We lucked out and had one mistint that was almost the color she wanted!
