Wish List…

I have had so many people that want to help a bit with the farm and all, and I’ve politely said no… mainly due to a feeling that we’re doing just fine and I hate to see people think that we’re struggling, or somehow are down and out… It was sure tough to get a mortgage (the price was toooo low, as opposed to any credit issues etc…) and then to have to gather up cash for the homestead, well, that took a little work and fanagling for sure! And it’s used up the majority of our available resources at the moment… But we’re certainly not down and out or anything and I’d really feel bad if folks were helping us when they could be helping all those poor people in Japan or even just locally.

But I had a girlfriend say, “It’s not that they think you’re in need of charity, they just want to be a part and help out a little, for Maggie and Jess, too!”

Okay. I think that is SO SWEET and I guess I understand… I’ve helped out other bloggers in need, or just having a rough time or even to celebrate new journeys, and I’ve also wanted to help out friends and done so… So I think I’ve come up with a good middle ground!

We are such a BOOK family, and absolutely love our resource guides. Maggie has been reading ALL the ones I have so far, just a few and is eating them up. So… I went to our Amazon page and I made up a little wish list of some of the titles we are looking for and would like to add to our library. We’re sure going to be needing some good hands on guides for the next few months. I’ll have the girls add a few here and there if the list goes down a bit.

Most are under $15 and would be a lovely way to help a bit that would give us ten fold the gift in helpful experience and wisdom so that we might not make as MANY mistakes in our journey to homesteading self sufficiency!!!

And please… we are just fine with the used editions… sometimes they are only $3-$5! Such a deal… We love re-using and deals!

And if you’d like our address, or that sort of thing, and have a used copy to share, or something else you think might really help us in this book wisdom drive… just give me a shout.

I’d really like any of these possible gifts sent to the girls, that will tickle them to no end! You know… if you wanted to really surprise them, you could take a few of your favorite seeds from your stash, and send them along to them! That would be so much fun! You could have a little bit of your favorite garden veggies growing on Windhaven Farm this year or for sure the next! A sort of garden seed-warming! Maggie would especially love that.
