My New Banjo is Here!

In January, I won a Deering banjo from a local radio show called the Ol’ Hippie Bluegrass Show! It was the coolest thing. And it just arrived! It’s a nice blond colored Steve Martin edition Crow banjo. It’s an open back frailing old tyme banjo, but it sounds pretty good bluegrass too. I’m liking the fact that it’s not as big and heavy and well, expensive as my Stelling banjo, so I’ll be a little more able to be able to take it places like camping or jams without worrying that something bad might be happen to my fancy gig baby. And to be honest, it’s a nice playing fun banjo that will be nice to just have around the Moby to play with whenever I need to do a little picking!

Thanks to Jerry and Randy, the old hippies and Deering Banjo company from California for such a wonderful prize. I just hardly ever win anything, and to win a nice banjo? Wow! What a cool thing!!!

  1. Congratulations! on winning that banjo.

I don’t know a thing about ’em– but yours is nice. It looks like you’ll get some enjoyment out it. Like you said, having an every day around the house banjo to play.

    So cool.

  2. That’s awesome! My 14 yr old daughter, a cellist, saved up her Christmas and birthday money and bought a mandolin – it just came in last week. She’s so excited.
