Friday Night Gig

Well, it’s Friday Night and it’s the Friday Night Gig recap!

We had a chance to go and play at the South Briar Restaurant in Sylvania Ohio tonight and sort of audition bluegrass for them. They are usually jazz or well, more popular kinds of music and this was a new thing for them. We were the bluegrass guinea pigs!

It was pretty fun… not a lot of people, but that’s okay. Those that were there were really enjoying our music and we had a great time playing. We only had a few days to get the word out, we’ll do much better next time since we’ve got another gig there on October 2nd, of this year! Yeah!

It was pretty dark in there… but cool. Different for us. Very nice restaurant and the cool thing, we got paid with cash and credit there… I think it will be nice to come back and eat! The food looked delish!

We played a pretty good long time… from like 7:30 till almost 11. There were people dancing and listening, and everyone seemed to like it. The owner thought at first, wow, bluegrass. I dunno. But by the end he was sold, he said, no one left (which happens to a lot of other bands) and that even though it wasn’t a huge crowd, they were all happy and chatting and ordering food and drinks and remarked how they enjoyed the music a lot. So I think bluegrass is a hit there, at least for a couple times! We’ll have to pull out all the stops to get a few more folks there next time.

Well, thanks to Dan, our fan club photographer… he did his best in the low light and captured a little footage…. it almost looks like surveilance video! haha! But it was fun and we had a nice time…. looking forward to October 2nd!!!
