Had a nice non-busy busy day yesterday! Haha… can’t just do nothing, but I tried hard to do it in a nice easy lazy manner. Maggie put together my last new shelf and so I managed to get that all filled up and my library sorted nicely, and then managed to get over 10 boxes of crafts and stuff sorted and stashed in my office. It really helped to empty the storage room out a lot, and I just feel so much, well, better, with my STUFF in around me in the office area.
I want to sew a little curtain to go under the back credenza/shelf area, just because I like a little cleaner look then a bunch of boxes and such under there. Might try and do that today. But I was amazed at how much space I have in there. I have a few more boxes to sort and empty, but really, I did the bulk of it yesterday and there’s lots more room! I might be able to get all my scrapbooking stuff in here too! That will be pretty keen!
We went to the Hudson surplus store and that was a nice visit… they had just all sorts of odds and ends and we managed to find a few little things that sounded good and at like a quarter and fifty cents for most things, it was a steal! I did manage to get one food barrel and I’m eager to try and cut it today to make my herb planters!
On the way home, we stopped at the fireworks store. Maggie had a little birthday money left and was itching to get a few things to shoot off in the back pasture. And they were having a sale, by one get the second for 99 cents… so she got a couple fountains and some sparklers! The BIG sparklers… haha… not the little kid ones.
The old stump out by the corner of the barn was perfect for her display and Jessy and I brought out some bug spray and the camera to capture a bit of the festivities. The girls are finally starting to get the fact that out here, you can kinda do what you want as long as you aren’t being too dangerous or too loud! And since our nearest neighbor is about a quarter mile away, we can be a little noisy if we want to be!
We’re more lights and sparkle kinds of gals than noise, so we always gravitate towards the fountains and such, they are so pretty! It was a brief show because Maggie didn’t have a lot of cash left, but the one finale one was very beautiful! The fireworks store is only 3 miles from us so I imagine we’ll have a few more displays before the summer is out! The 4th should be a big show for sure! We should probably consider inviting a crowd!

Hi Sherri…first of all, I like how you’ve arranged your office. That big window is wonderful.
And then, I get a kick out of all the different things you and the girls are interested in. Nature, cooking, creating, painting, crafting, animals, traveling, bargain hunting, decorating, friends, music, writing, photography, poultry, gardening, canning, preserving, baking, sewing, photography, ….I probably forgot something, but, isn’t life wonderful?
Thanks for continuing to share your adventure. You and your daughters are precious.
Aw shucks… we’re just not focused on anything in general! Haha…
I think my daughters hate to drive anywhere with me because I’m like a 5 year old in the car… Ooooh…. look at that… Ooooh ponies! Hey, look there’s a hay field, oh… ooooooh look Moo cows!!!!” and so on and so on until we arrive. No wonder they are usually wearing their ipods…
I can’t help it, I love life and I have a brain full of ideas and things I want to experience. Taking it easy the last two days are nearly killing me. My body is still a little achy and I have a little muscle pull in my back that is just annoying enough to make it hard to so stuff. I’m caught up on nearly all my client work, and just sent out monthly invoices and a bunch of orders, so we’re really not doing anything much today. It’s rainy and just sort of gloomy. And I’m just going nuts with the boredom!
I want to be out planting and walking around and playing with the chickens and going to get hay and just everything fun. But I can’t, so I feel like one of those little kids with the chicken pox, locked up for a few days.
Sigh…
But I did manage to get Jessy to help me cut my barrel in half. haha… and baked some bread for dinner and made a couple of pound cakes with all the eggs from the girls. So I guess I’m finding things to do.
I think I’m going to go and watch a DVD for awhile. I don’t do much of that, so it will be a treat.
Thanks so much for your kind words and traveling along with us! Readers are the best… it makes it fun to relate this all out there!

Oh Yeah! We can do celebrations on the cheap… it should be fun. We have yet to have an official house warming… I’m thinking that we need to do it soon, now that the weather is a little nicer and all that jazz.
Yes, we have so many memories here and it’s only been 6 weeks!!! I can’t imagine what it will be like in a year or two or five or ten!!! I thank God every single day for this blessing. I never thought it would be!
