Our New Favorite Brownie Recipe!

Favorite Brownies….

2 1/2 cups sugar

1/2 cup cocoa

4 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1 cup melted butter

Mix together the sugar, cocoa, eggs and vanilla.   Gradually add in the flour and salt, the mix will get very thick.  Then fold in the melted butter.  Use a 13 x 9 pan for a full batch or a 8 x 8 for a half batch.  Add nuts if desired.  Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.  Enjoy!

I have to say, these are amazingly good brownies.  Easy to whip up.  We adjusted the recipe a bit for our own likes.  We like a slightly cake like brownie, but still with a dense chocolaty taste and texture.  They are AWESOME with a little buttercream icing on the top.

I know, some folks think a brownie is a barely cooked gooey centered thick fudge like thing. And others, practically cake.  We are sort of in between.  I really don’t like those gooey ones, but I like a little bit of a cake like texture.   These are perfect!   I make half with nuts and half without.  Walnuts are  my favorite, but I sometimes use crushed almonds like the one above if I’m out of walnuts…  Sometimes frosted, sometimes not.  Just a simple, easy and good recipe for sure!!!  Enjoy!!!
