Making Butter…

We’ve started to make our own butter again and I’m so glad! We love making butter. There is something so cool about it. I love when it gets to the separation state. It’s just about the time you are thinking, wow… is this ever going to happen and then… poof! It starts to thicken… and you can feel it turn to a sort of thick milkshake consistency.

But the best part is that you still have some more shaking to do. You have another minute or two and you shake, shake and shake and then poof! Another change… and suddenly you have a beautiful lump of golden butter in a little lake of lovely buttermilk, just crying out for Sunday morning blueberry pancakes… yum.

Have a lovely Sunday, y’all….

Making Butter… — 2 Comments

  1. I love home made butter! I I let my cream sit out until it’s at room temperature.
Then I use my mixer on it. I find that easier and faster.
    Enjoy your butter!

    • Ah! Yeah…. good stuff. We set ours out overnight and then make it in the morning. I like shaking it, it’s sort of fun and it’s a good upper body workout, farm style! (gg)
