Cute Thrift Store Finds…

Isn’t this just the cutest little rooster? Found him at the Goodwill store for a quarter. Had to bring him home. Maggie says to me, oh, that’s a Japanese long tail banty rooster. Hmmmm. She gets the chicken book and yep, sure is. She is really getting to know her chickens! I just thought he was adorable and needed to come home with me.

Got this lovely watercolor print a while back, just adore the little sheep on it. It’s hanging in my room now and just makes me smile. All for $1.

I suppose some folks don’t like shopping at the Goodwill. That’s fine, leaves more good stuff for the rest of us. I like that we’re keeping things out of landfills, giving folks jobs and something to do, and helping us to keep within our budget and still get nice things to bring a smile to our day. It’s a great way to get a little shopping therapy in, and not have to bust your budget. I’ve gotten some really nice clothing, housewares and just fun stuff like books, magazines and knick knacks, all for pennies on the dollar. I can be picky, there are some things I just don’t want to reuse like undies and some housewares like pillows and such, but hey, that’s okay. I can get those new and save on everything else.

Thrift stores are great when it’s too cold for garage sales! Garage sales are my number one fun shopping experience. Just love then the first good garage sales start to hit! I know we’re all planning to have a nice big sale here, as soon as the weather turns. Got a whole storage unit worth of odds and ends that would love to have a new home!!!
