Maggie’s New Room…

Ever since she evicted her big sister, Maggie has been hard at work organizing and unpacking her belongings. She has been sweeping and arranging and putting together a few shelf units that she bought at the Sauder outlet store. I don’t think I’ve seen her for at least three days it seems! Haha… She’s been hard at work.

And finally, she called down to me to come up and take pictures for the blog! (My children are not spoiled by the fame of their blogging mother at all… it’s just a matter of fact for them!) And so I did.

She’s still got to paint the floor and railing, and her window trim, but she told me she’s sick of painting for a few weeks and I don’t blame her. It’s not too bad and I guess if she’s comfy, then I’m comfy. We’re keeping our eye out for a nice rug for the middle of her main section. Also we still have to come up with a nice solution for that vapor barrier wall. She doesn’t mind, but I think it would look nicer, finished.

Next week we are going to make her a platform storage bed, so her bed is up off the floor some. Being a teenager, she doesn’t mind much, but she is interested in the storage underneath for her massive Lego collection that is still downstairs. Should be fun to design and built. I like her view out the window to the back estate.

Luna Kitty approves of the changes to HER room. She likes the comfy chair in the corner and has already claimed it as her own.

I’m just glad that my girls each have their own lair now and everyone is super duper happy in Windhaven Land. We might even have the storage room empty within a week or two! (And then can start to work on that problem child!!! YIKES!!!!)

Maggie’s New Room… — 4 Comments

  1. NOTE TO MAGGIE:
My GOSH what a beautiful room! It must feel great to finally get most of that done..it looks great! Its always good to take some time off from painting because after awhile it goes from fun to hate. What a great view you have also. (so glad there was no fire at your house..better safe than not).

Later on..and I’m sure your mom know plenty of hints..but for the vapor barrier, you could cover it with plain of plywood, or Lowes has “cardboard” beadboard..its not wood, but I have used it and it looks great..pegboard..there are a GA ZILLION things you can do..and its gonna be gorgeous. Painting the floor is gonna be gorgeous also, can’t wait to see the finished project. (it’s so HUGE..almost like your own apartment!)

  2. It’s looking great! I love the little nook on the far side of the stairs. I think the platform bed with storage sounds great, too. Can’t wait to see it.
