Blue is fine…

A local fellow that does car repair work and drywalling too… came by and diagnosed the problem with Blue’s brakes! About mid body one of the brake lines has a little pinhole leak. He’s going to replace the line on Wednesday and gave me permission to drive her to practice and errands in the big city tomorrow as long as I keep the fluid filled and keep a bottle in the car. I promise. I will.

I was so worried it was the master cylinder or some huge brake job and well, frankly, this is not the best time for that. Still recovering from having to come up with so much money for buying Windhaven and then a month of rehab and moving expenses… so this is AWESOME NEWS…

Just doing a little happy dance and promising to give Blue much needed light duty for a while! No more hauling and long drives and day in and day out work! She has earned a little down time for sure!

And I just have to find someone to haul Gunnar to Canton, Ohio… he has an appointment with my friend Larry and his wonderful transmission shop… Larry promises that he can get that car in tip top condition. He’s a graphic client of mine and a bluegrass musician and super awesome fellow. I have tried to get someone to buy it for scrap but no one wants to buy it for a decent price. $300 was my top offer! So, I just have to wait a bit and then see how to get a car hauler company to drive it down there for me. About 150 miles. At this point? It’s my only chance of getting another decent vehicle on the place. I definitely need a car and a back up car here…

  1. Such great news about the brakes!!! I love when things like that happen! I’m hoping when I get my pickup looked at that they’ll say it’s something minor instead of the carburetor. Gunnar is a great looking car, and I’d say it’s probably cheaper to just get the trans fixed one more time rather than trying to buy a comparable vehicle for that price. Hope he can’t fix him for good!
