My meyer lemon killed one of it’s OWN babies! I was sitting at my desk, working on some client stuff and I looked over and then AS I WATCHED, the smaller of the lemons just dropped off the tree!!!!! I couldn’t believe it. Just thunk. Dead.

I guess it didn’t want two on the one branch, and the smaller just fell off. And the weird thing is that within a day the little dead one, which I left in the pot, in the dirt, turned yellow! A teeny little dead portrait of what it could have been!

I am so sad. My poor little dead lemon baby! Of course the remaining one is getting nice and big, and I guess that is the way with lemons and lemon trees. Still… I pine for the little lost one. Sigh.

At least my secondary attempts at human pollination have worked and I have two more coming up the ranks…
