WE GOT THE FARM!!!!!!

It’s official! They accepted our offer! I can’t believe it!

It was a LONG night and day… but we found out late this afternoon…. and we have just been so EXCITED all evening long!!!!

Tomorrow we have to go and get a statement of funds and a check for 10% earnest money. And then we have 17 hundred forms to fill out.

Oh my gosh!!! There are a a zillion things going through our minds. I almost just can’t think straight… I think we’re going to just take things one day at a time!

Once we are done with all the paperwork, we will have to make one more inspection of the plumbing once they de-winterize the place. Not really worried about that, should be a quick and easy thing. Everything looked fine last week, but they wouldn’t de-winterize the place until there was an accepted offer. That’s fine…. We just get to go back out to the house!! Yah!

This has been a crazy two months and I’m so thankful for all the friends and readers and everyone that has been following along! Your prayers, comments, notes, emails, texts and calls have kept us on the straight and positive road to making this dream come true!!! It has meant so much to us!!! Thank you!

Oh boy, it’s going to be a wild year coming up!!! So many things to do and plan and plot and all! We are going to have a crazy couple weeks as we try and get as much done as we can with our companies and such, clients, etc., so that we can take a little time off and really concentrate on making our new homestead into our forever home!!! This is just so wonderful on so many levels. I just can’t believe it’s actually happening!

And don’t worry… I just don’t know what we will do with the Moby! Everyone keeps asking!!! We love the Moby and like we said, we are going to look into a few options. She will not just get abandoned or anything like that. She’s going to either be moved out to the farm, or she’s going to have a new family in her… we’ll just have to see how it goes. I’m mostly worried that at 32+ years old… she just might not be structurally sound to move. We will get an estimate and appraisal of the work and cost and go from there. We would love to keep her, because the market is such, we’ll never get what we put into her, out. She would be a great extra guest house, or even potentially rented out, who knows!!! All we know is that she is a part of the family and we will find out what we can do!!

Oh boy! Crazy time, stay tuned!!!!!! It’s going to be a crazy year!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad the title of your post said ‘You GOT the farm’ …and not ‘You BOUGHT the farm’…lol
Congrats to you, the girls, and the ‘farm animals’! They’re gonna love the farm.

There may be some bumps in the road, but enjoy this wonderful ride.

    (:

  8. Amazing wonderful news! It just tickles me to see people who are bursting with ideas when looking through a “needs TLC” house. Those looking for a just so, move-in-ready McMansion, just bore me to no end!

On the video, I agree with the voice that said, “If you buy this, you will be here every day…you will move in pretty quick.” Spring and warm weather are just around the corner and how could you stay away much when it is officially YOURS!

Looking forward to all your creative activities!

  14. Hi Sheri- we are still doing okay here (Kevin is still with us, and doing ok). Well, feeling a little low and overwhelmed today, and decided to read some on your blog I miss so much. Decided a needed a real “cheer” session so looked up the wayyyy back when you ladies bought Windhaven- and found this page. Very sweet and meaningful.

Sincerely, your fan in NW Illinois,
