  1. My folks had a victory garden. And when they moved into the house I was raised in after the war in 1946, it had an even bigger yard. It was on 1/4 acre and most of it was garden. We had a huge corn plot (before my mother sold the house, that corn plot was sold as a separate lot, it was so big). We had an apricot tree in the back too. It’s a fond memory of my childhood, working and playing in the garden. It was my Dad’s pride and joy.

    My father was raised on a 215 acre homestead in Thompson Falls, MT that my grandfather hewn out of virgin timber starting in 1916. My mother was raised on the ranch that included the land that is now the Thompson Falls airport.
