Bluegrass Weekend

Well, played on Friday night at the Romulus Michigan Coonhunter’s Club and now we’ll be playing today at the Fall Festival at the Wagon Wheel Campground that I fondly call Marvfest! It should be lots of fun, even with the muggy kind of rainy weather we’re having today. Overcast and with a good chance of showers throughout the day and evening.

We play at 2 pm and at 8 pm, so, it’s going to be a long day! But when you have a bunch of fun bluegrass folks around, it’s bound to be a good day.

We had fun playing at the Coonhunters, even if there weren’t too many people there. Wish they could get it worked up so that there are a lot more people showing up, but well, it’s just a little hole in the wall place. We love the people, and it’s a piece of band history for us… Jeff and I made our first debut there as band members of Fulton County and they have always encouraged and treated us nicely.

Tiim and Rob had to bust loose on a little Minor Swing while we were taking a break… they are such awesome musicians! I feel a little out of place with them at times. I’m just an old lady banjo player! These guys are total music freaks! HAHAHA… said in the nicest possible way. They live and breathe and all that with their music. It’s really cool to work with them and be able to feed off that enthusiasm! I pick with the best bunch of guys around… all of them!

Well, I need to get going… got to get ready for today! I’ll take more photos, and maybe some video to share! I get caught up in the whole event and forget to take pictures! Which is really weird because I love to take photos of everything!!! I’m chicken to ask to borrow Jessy’s fancy camera, but this would probably not be the best place anyway, since it’s overcast and dark already and the place is a covered shelter house. I’ll use my little trust point and shoot… I use it for all the blog photos, so it’ll do okay.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend this fall!!!
