Making Fake Pickles

Did you know you can make “fake” pickles pretty easy?

I call them fake pickles because you save a jar of pickle brine… after eating all the pickles from the jar… save the juice.

Then get some fresh local cukes…. preferably your own it you can….

And slice those little dudes however you like them. Spears, halves, slices, whatever works for you.

If you want… get a little fresh garlic and squeeze those into the jar to zip up the flavor a bit.

Then just pack them in the jar….

Seal em up and pop them in the frig for a couple days. It’s the easiest way I know of making fast pickles! They’re kinda like making New Garlic Pickles, like you get at a deli? My daughter calls them half-baked pickles because they still look like cukes more, the color and crispness of them. I love them, real garlic new pickles and we’re making a big batch of them too…. but I thought I would share my simple recipe with you all… I like this because you don’t have to get a zillion of them, you can just slice up a couple and pop them in the jar and in a week, have more pickles!

Don’t forget to refrigerate them though… they aren’t preserved or canned or anything. Don’t want ya getting sick and not reading the MW blog!!!
