Farm Kitty Luna…

DSC_0764

We were moving hay from the van and got caught in a sudden rain shower, so the last two bales ended up in the screen porch to wait out the storm…  well, Luna decided that they would be a perfect perch from which to survey her kingdom!

She’s a funny kitty.  She is getting older and has always been an indoor/outdoor cat.   She likes to go out for awhile, but loves the creature comforts of the house. She never strays far yet she does like to follow us around on chores or when we are working on a project.   She is a good mouser and keeps the population down to a low roar in the feedroom and barns.  She doesn’t catch birds.  Her ability to jump is not so good anymore, so I suspect that helps save the birdies.   But actually, she never really has been into birds.  Mice are her favorite snack prey.

She’s going on 13 or 14 years old now, I know we got her when Maggie was about six?  Maybe seven…  and she’s now twenty one!  She has moved around with us through four different homes and two states!  She just takes things in stride.   She spends most of her winters inside, however, she doesn’t seem to like the cold much.  Come springtime, she is a little chubby and ready to do her seasonal shapeup walking around and hunting mousies.

She’s a doll and we love her!  DSC_0766
