Homemade Deepwater CD

We’re working on our REAL cd… you know a studio thing?

But let me tell you, that’s a lot of hard work…. you have to get all the material, get it nice and rehearsed, and then start laying down the tracks. It takes a while, you have to get everyone there when they can, and it’s all done rather individually, so it just seems to take a long time.

Now I understand why artists take years between CDs!

Well, we had this live recording of a show we did for the Tin Can Tourists club in Milford, Michigan and it is such a fun recording. Technically perfect? NO WAY…. a great representation of how fun my band is? YOU BET! It’s a delightful slice of one of our gigs, left complete with the MC work, the band teasing and of course, crowd heckling!

It’s Bluegrass at it’s homemade finest!!!

All the graphics are, of course, done by me! And Jessy and I worked for hours to create and assemble and get them ready for the festival. We even got to use our brand new CD Seller for the first time…. you can learn more about them at: www.thecdseller.com

Of course, it was too hot and there wasn’t a whole lot of people there when we played since we went first, so we didn’t sell anything. But, that’s okay, we’re still excited about the CD and all that.

So excited that I thought I would put it up here available for you all to consider bringing into your own little world…. I’ve never tried to insert a shopping cart button in a blog, but I figure it should work…

You can now get the NEW Deepwater Bluegrass CD …. Live at the Tin Can Tourist Show…. here… Only $10, free shipping.

Every penny goes to helping keep the band on the road! We’re nice folks and actually, I have the very best bandmates in the world…. they actually let me fiddle on stage for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE this Saturday!

When I get the recording and the video of it… I’ll post it here! (Unless it’s really weird, then I’ll just convienently forget to post it. HAHAHAHA)

My little band recorder picked it up somewhat, but unknown to me, I set it right in the pathway of a rotating fan, so parts of the music are overdroned with wind noise! I’m still learning the ins and outs of field recording!

This lovely CD has 17 songs on it…. so if you don’t like one, there’s lots more to enjoy! And it has all the fun banter and crowd/band silliness as well.

It’s ALMOST like being there…

Here’s one of my favorites off the CD…. it’s Man of Constant Sorrow.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Part of why I like it is that it was a request thrown at us and we did it. Jeff is the lead singer on it and about half the way through, he forgets the lines! And silliness ensues until the crowd begins to sing the song for him! Just delightful! Music is all about enjoyment and laughter and singing along to your favorite songs… if you want technical perfection, then stay home and listen to studio produced sterile recordings and avoid the mud and cold and bad parking situations! If you love to see and hear a band that just LOVES the music so, and performing… then thats why you go to live shows!

Well… nuff ‘hawkin’ the thing…. if you’re interested and would like a fun cd to listen to in the car? We’re here for you.

Thanks!!!
