Such a pretty boy…  Angora goats are so pretty when they start to get all full of fleece…  just think, he’s going to get even more shaggy by next spring!

  1. He looks as if he is looking at his own reflection…reminds me of Narcissius. He is beautifl. My grandfather raised goats and sheep and I loved when he sheared the sheep. He could start at one end and shear them without stopping until he had it all off in one huge piece. Of course, his sheep knew him and he babied the hell out of them so there was a huge level of trust. Sometimes, I would help him and I would say, Gramps, want me to hold the legs, and he’d say, well, sis, reckon you can just talk sweetly or maybe sing softly, they like sweet sounds. To my knowledge, he never nicked them nor made them look all chopped up either. He had four huge pasteurs and he had two sheep dogs (boarder collies) whose sole responsibility was watching the sheep and herding them. When he moved the sheep from one pastuer to another, he would tell the dogs, let’s go, and they’d start moving the sheep…all we had to do was hold the gate between the pasteurs open. Sometimes, we might carry a lamb. I miss my gramps and his sheep.
