Cute Sheep Pictures…

Miss Iris just chilling out like a momma sheep can.  Harley, her boy, is just hanging with her, keeping watch over his beloved Momma…  She is one sweet ewe.  One of my favorites of the older ewes.

Bridget and her son Travis.   He’s a big boy now… soon to join the rams in the ram field.  He’s not a ram, but a whether, but I think it would be good to keep him with the other young boys from this crop of lambs.  That way they have a little three sheepie flock.  And so he will stop nursing on his mom, whom is letting him go on and on.   He’s so big that he nearly knocks her over begging for milk.

Bridget is such a sweet sweet ewe.  She really likes people.  Most of the sheep are not quite as friendly as she is.   She was raised by a 4H young lady, as a bottle raised baby and that pretty much makes all farm animals very very friendly and people aware.

Jessy and I did some temporary roofing to the ram shack, so it’s at least waterproof for any summer storms.  At first the boys would NOT go in.   No thank you.  Not for any reason.  So we just waited and watched.  Most light rains, the two rams, Harley and Otis, they would just go under the cover of the big maples along the northern fence of their field.   But last week, we had a DOOOOOZY of a storm… started out light and then all the sudden, it was a huge downpour.  I was trapped out in the big barn with most of the critters but Jessy said she watched the rams boys hesitate and stand outside the shed a few moments, debating…  and then they both ran inside and hunkered down.  Now they come and go.   I guess it just took a heavy storm to convince them of the merits of their own little man shack!
