Our Goat Playground…

DSC_0710

Now that Windhaven has four goats, it was growing apparent that our goat herd was lacking in one very important thing.  A playground!   Goats just LOVE to climb and jump and frolic.  Rana and Rafeka especially seemed disappointed in our lack of appropriate goat toys.  They tried to use any chair or tree that they found.  But soon, I noticed even Daisy and Buttercup were trying to invent play things all around the place and I knew it was time to sit down and design up a little fun center to keep them busy!

So with our normal creative hillbilly engineering, it was time to make up something fun for the caprines to frolic on.  I moved a wire spool ad a few other little odds and ends into the back pasture.  I got a little end table that was missing it’s glass top at a garage sale for $1.  I added a few pieces of scrap wood, an old tire and half of a water barrel.  As you can see, our goaties are very pleased with their new play structure!   And the fun part is that the lambs enjoy it as well!  Everyone is happy!!!  Daisy and Buttercup love to slide down the plank!  And everyone likes playing King of the Mountain on top!  I think I might add a little more to it eventually, but right now, it’s a hoot to sit and watch them play around and enjoy it.
