Girl Jobs….

HAHAHAHA… Tim came over today to finish up what he calls “Girl Jobs” … you know… stuff that only girls want done… like towel racks and baskets on the wall and spice racks and kitchen drawers… hahaha… he’s a hoot. Well, yeah, 3 girls live here and it’s apparent that we lack the manly attention to our Honey-Do list! hahahaha!

Like the couch for example.

I bought it off Craig’s List for $50. And it’s a nice classic style smaller couch, perfect for the Moby and it’s a hide-a-bed (though we’ve yet to have anyone try it… hahaha) but still.. it had one MAJOR problem… it was SO low that it was hard to get up and out of. Everyone that sat in it once, would not sit in it again. I was actually thinking to ditch it and try to save up the cash for a new one… but then I thought, why not just raise it up a little bit… and Tim figured it out. A couple 2x4s raised it up and I’ll be getting a nice slipcover for it in the next day or two… (never really liked the color or that it has a couple rough spots….) and I’ve probably saved myself at least $300… it’s super comfy now!

Of course, the 2×4’s have a certain redneck quality to them at the moment… hahaha… but that’s okay. A little redneck in your life makes you appreciate the finer points of mobile home living.

Towel Rack!!! Yes… we have towel rack!!! My walls in the bathroom are tricky… you can’t just hang anything anywhere with out enough support… but he found a good spot and it looks lovely! Yeah!

And I found these cute baskets and thought, it would be good for some of our lotions and potions and such, kinda get them up and off the small counter, etc… beautiful!

And then he had hung my garage sale find spice rack… love it… I like having a few things there at easy grasp instead of taking up our limited counter space or having to be stored in the pantry… it’s perfect!

He also fixed up a kitchen drawer that the glide runner thing was messed up and added a door swipe so that we won’t be cooling the outside anymore, fixed one of my pantry shelves that was weak and buckling and even added some new bolts to a wobbly toilet seat! Life at the Moby is good tonight… hey, little things like that are like broken windows in a vacant house… they start a downward spiral… little things become big headaches eventually… and it’s so great to have someone to come and help with some of the “girl jobs” that we needed a hand with! Yeah!

Don’t worry though, folks… I’ve got a couple “guy jobs” for him next week… outdoor stuff, building and fresh lumber and dirt, you know, good hardy handyman jobs! And then if my daughters get busy the next couple days, they are getting a whole new shelving system in their room that is going to really really help them with the clutter problem they are having at the moment! Yeah!
