Friday Night was Glass City Opry Night…

And being that I’m one of the owners of the venue… it is always fun and a pleasure to be involved in bringing regular bluegrass concerts to the Northwestern corner of Ohio…

Tonight was a great group from Tennessee and Kentucky… the Cumberland Gap Connection and boy, did they entertain!  What a nice group of guys… we’ll be glad to have them back again.

They sure put on a great show and we enjoying having them there!

The Maumee Indoor Theater is home to the Opry and we simply adore this location.  We will be here as long as we can keep the Opry going.  We’re heading into our third year this August… it’s very hard work and has cost us a good deal of money, but we’re finally starting to see a leveling out for our efforts and that is very exciting.  We may never see our investment returned, but right now we’re just excited to see it holding it’s own and all.  It’s such a lovely theater and it’s such a nice place to play and experience live bluegrass music.

The Clark Brothers and North City Grass opened up the night and we are always pleased to have them at the Opry.  This is their second time and it was nice to see them have their new CD to sell to the fans.   By the looks of it, they did pretty nicely…  the fans always appreciate having the local bands get a chance to show off at the Opry.

Our staff photographer, Erin Kilburn, she just had her little beautiful baby girl two days before so I got to fill in for the night.  I borrowed Jessy’s fancy camera and had a good time… I shot 300 pictures!!!   So many turn out blurry because we don’t like to shoot with flash, but there are always a few good shots… I like this one because of the action in it…  fun show.  Clark Brothers are always entertaining, that is for sure.

Here we are… the sound staff, Jeff and I and the main band.   We forget to take shots with these national bands… and we’re going to try and remember to do so… just for fun I guess… part of the whole scrapbooking affair of the history of our show.  I kind of realized that I’m not in a lot of pictures and even though I’m a little funny about that, I think I need to get in them more…  after all, it’s part of my history as well…  and I want to be able to look back some day and say, hey, I was there…  and here’s the proof!  HAHA…

All in all… it’s always a delight to have a day at the Glass City Opry…
