Last Friday night we hosted the fantastic bluegrass band, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper… Oh my gosh, what a show!
Just only the like the umpteenth Fiddler of the Year awarded by the IBMA (Internation Bluegrass Music Association) and band of the year and so on and so on… just a phenomenal band and such a gifted fiddler and all of the musicians in the band… oh my gosh, so good, so tight, just a delight to listen and watch….
I got the whole show on video, but I can’t upload it without permission from the band, so it will be a while before a few choice cuts are available. I can only hope that some of the guests might have caught a bit or two…. I keep checking YouTube…
OH MY GOSH!!! There is finally one up there! Yeah!
That is one of my most favorite fiddle tunes!!!!
WOW…..
Well, this was one night to remember for sure… and it was our 2nd anniversary…. 25 monthly shows… quite an accomplishment really, especially in an economy that not many people will go out on the limb and establish a monthly venue for such a nitch music… it was such a delight to have such a great band to share the celebration with…..
Beautiful photography from our staff photographer, Erin Kilburn…. be sure to go and check out all her beautiful photography at her website…. www.ErinKilburnPhotography.com We so appreciate her covering the events and bringing the history of the Glass City Opry alive!
We are always trying to get a nice shot of Jeff doing the MC thing… but he’s always just a moving blur! HAHA…. I think Erin finally got one… she was really trying this time. After 25 shows, we don’t have a single clear photo of him! Amazing… How does he do it?
Well, this was ONE amazing show and I’m so glad we’re done with our summer break and back with a splash… the rest of the schedule for the year is just amazing… New Found Road, David Davis and the Warrior River Boys and Dale Ann Bradley and more!!!! I’m so excited to be one of the owners of such a COOOOOOOL venue for Bluegrass Music!!!!
