Miss Ebony and Mr. Onyx had another litter of little American Guinea Hogs this morning! Two girls and two boys… already spoken for… we are waiting on her daughter, Cheyenne to have her first litter and hopefully we can keep some of those! It’s nice to have piggies in great demand, but we’d like to raise a few ourselves as well. We are working to expand our pig pen and pig house area so that we can have perhaps get one more breeding sow, unrelated to our gang.
Love how sweet and cute they are when they are first born. All clean and silky black… soon enough they will be bigger and muddy and bristle coated! But right now we are just so happy that they are healthy and strong and getting around pretty well.
Sleeping in the straw! Awwww….. little critters in the nice clean sweet straw.
We have had a week of rain and it’s a mess in their yard. It’s a mess all over the place. Hopefully, when we expand their pen and improve it, we can make this less of a nasty spot. Normally, it’s dry but for a little wallow spot they love. But now, it’s a quagmire. And we have another week of storms! Ugh! There has been some flooding around the area, in fact a whole little town in under water nearby.
Awww… the first official sister-wife family portrait! All seven of our hogs at the moment. Hopefully more, real soon!
