Just a quick post to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my American pals out there… and anyone else that likes to take advantage of a day to eat good food all day long and then pass out for a lovely nap! I know we will be doing that… going to our friend Mary’s home and sharing the feast with her family. Jess has been cooking up some treats and we are coming prepared! Just love Thanksgiving dinner… we really should have it quarterly, there is so much to be thankful for and it’s just such good chow!
Yesterday was my 51st birthday… and it was a lovely day. The van was in the shop and they called to tell me it was just dust and dirt in the back brakes that cause it to lock up a bit and they cleaned them and no charge! Yeah!
Then I went to see my cardiologist (which I will admit just freaks me out to be able to say I actually have a cardiologist!!!! Agh!!!) and after a battery of tests and looking at some blood work and all that, he declared me sound and fit, no need to see him anymore, healthy and doing great! Whew!!! Even my hemoglobin level was lovely… 11.5. So much better than the all time low of 7, which forced me into transfusion time! He would like to see it more around 13 or so, but he loved the 11.5 after only 4 weeks post surgery. And he even admitted that he thinks the irregularity on that one EKG right before surgery was from stress, anemia, and all the other medical things going on. He still wants to call it a heart attack, but it was very very mild and all. I will accept that. Especially now that everything seems perfectly good and on the right track to healing. Still have two weeks left in my lifting restrictions… but that is fine. The girls won’t let me do anything toooo strenuous anyway!
After all that, got home and my daughters had gifts for me, sweet homemade things and then they took me out to dinner at a favorite local restaurant. It was just the perfect end to a perfect day. I really feel things are starting to look up a bit and that is so good. It’s been a very hard year for us, probably one of the worse, and I am very much looking forward to 2015! It just has to be better!
Well, the weather here is mild and fairly decent… not too warm, but not too cold. The house is doing well, warm enough and content. I believe in the next week or two they will be out to start winterizing the underneath and that will make a huge difference. We might actually have picked a nice color paint for our living room and dining room and I’m excited about that! Hey, its the little things that really do keep you going day in and day out.
Once again, Happy Thanksgiving and my best wishes to you and yours! Eat up, visit, enjoy the company of those you love and don’t forget to nap!!!
